We’re looking forward to seeing you at the next Four Hands Collective show. We’ve created a google form to make it easy for you to provide us with the artist information we’ll need for the program.

  • Every Night at the Triad is filmed and photographed. That documentation becomes how we tell the story of this community. Through video clips, highlight reels, full performance recordings, photos, and social media posts that promote both the Four Hands Collective and the artists who perform with us.

    Our goal is to make sure the people in your neighborhood, and beyond, know your name and your work.

    We use performance footage and photography across our website, YouTube channel, and social media platforms. When we post your performance, we do our best to tag you, credit you, and actively direct our audience to your upcoming shows and projects. Every piece of content we create is in service of the same mission: helping working musicians be seen and heard by the communities that should be supporting them.

  • If you would prefer that we not use footage or photos of your performance, please let us know before the show. We will honor that completely and without question. Just reach out to craig@fourhandscollective.org or hannah@fourhandscollective.org.

    By performing at a Four Hands Collective event without notifying us otherwise, you are giving us permission to use footage and photography of your performance for nonprofit promotional purposes.

    We are grateful for your trust. This community only works because artists show up for it and we show up for you.

The Four Hands Collective is an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting artists in our community.

We share your events with the UWS community of music lovers that has grown over the past few years. We’re creating a central location for Collective performances so it’s easy to find out what’s going on.

DM the details, posts, ticket/venue link and/or flyers to @fourhandscollective, with as much lead time as possible.

Dear collective performers,

Thank you for bringing your talents and your generous spirits to the community and to the Four Hands Collective. Bill, Lucy and Craig have been organically building this community from Blackpress Coffee HQ since 2021. 

History- At first we were just hanging out with coffee shop regulars and meeting new people through Bill's dog Lucy. We soon realized that a steady, supportive community was rare in New York City, worth fostering and growing. Gatherings turned into musical salons at Shiv's place, then Nights at the Triad, where we could all gather, connect, and appreciate the talented artists among us.

Collective Spirit- Audience members and performers say these nights are special because of the amazing talent and lack of ego onstage, the generosity and attentiveness of the audience, and the connective energy in the room — the feeling that we're all in this together. One audience member said, for the first time, he truly understood the word "community." Our Triad nights are also exposing some to live jazz and other genres for the first time. We appreciate the artists who share their talents with us and build on this energy with creative expression.

    • What kinds of snacks would you like in the green room?

    Of course there are budget, volunteer time, and venue limitations. But we'll do our best to make the experience comfortable and fun.

  • Our music directors, Matt Baker and Antongiulio Foti, are responsible for inviting artists and building the show. Hannah and Craig are not part of that process, but do represent the audience. We personally know most of the people who attend, and we can tell you that each show’s buzz lasts for weeks. We get to hear what moved people, what brought laughter, what made them tear up. Feel free to reach out to us to discuss the creative process — the Collective should be a collaborative effort, and everyone should feel comfortable providing feedback and ideas!

  • All ticket sales and donations go to paying artists and covering production and promotion expenses. Our music directors are paid for their time onstage, but not for building the show. It's a lot of work to fit in between gigs! They aim to maintain a balance between inviting new performers and showcasing regulars.

    • You are very much part of this Collective, whether or not you're invited to perform in a particular show.

    • We'll try to organize shows further in advance and communicate more clearly. Kristen Pszonak will be the main point of communication if you have questions or concerns, but feel free to reach out to Craig and Hannah as well.

    • We'll raise funds to purchase a limited number of comp seats at each show for Collective artists who aren’t performing. Please let us know if you’re interested in a seat or volunteer opportunities.

  • As soon as curtains close on a Night at the Triad, our UWS community is ready to buy tickets and donate for the next show. They like to plan early! The best way to sell out is to invite early. Our goal is to sell out quickly to ensure a comfortable budget and focus volunteer energy on organizing the show rather than promotion.

    • If we sell out before you can invite friends and family, let us know. There are always cancellations. We'll do our best to get your special guests in so they can share the experience. 

    • Opening ticket sales early also means we need to design the invite flyers long before performers are confirmed. To convey the event's energy, Craig's been using the most engaging photos captured at past shows. We realize this could create confusion about the lineup, but we believe it's more important to share the flyer early and express the collective spirit of the event. If you don't want your image used on invite flyers and Collective promotional material, please reach out to Craig.

    • The team is making an effort to streamline communications concerning the program; please get those bios and photos in so we can best promote you! Provide your bio above.

  • As many of you know, the Collective's work extends beyond Nights at the Triad.

    We've been working to:

    • Promote gigs and events

    • Find work opportunities for artists in the Collective 

    • Bring in donations so we can enhance the Triad Nights and pay artists more

    • Build the Collective's online presence as a centralized hub for connection and promotion 

    • Organize our team of amazing community volunteers to support these efforts.

    • Have merch/flyers? Bring it for the team to sell at Nights at the Triad.

    • Need to promote a big show? As soon as the venue is booked let us know and we can collaborate on promotion.

    • Looking for teaching jobs? We can connect you with parents and students in the community.

    For smaller gigs and shows, we'll do the best we can with our limited volunteer hours. You can help by inputting upcoming shows in the form above and by tagging @fourhandscollective on event Instagram posts and stories so we can easily share them.
