A Night at the Triad 9

  • Triad Theater 158 West 72nd Street New York, NY, 10023 United States (map)

The show

Nine Nights at the Triad. Eight of them sold out. Every one of them different. Every one of them, in some way, better than the last.

Night 9 arrives on a Friday — the first time this series has happened on a weekend — and that changes something. You can stay for all of it. The full evening of world-class music. The pizza after the show. The open hang with the artists. And a genuine celebration: of this community, of nine nights of something real, and of the Four Hands Collective's official 501(c)3 tax-exempt status.

There will also be some very special guests in the audience. Matt Baker's parents are flying in from Australia to watch their son do what he does — for the first time in this room. We suspect the room will feel that.

The lineup

Matt Baker and Antongiulio Foti are building Night 9 now. New faces. Community favorites. A few surprises we are not ready to reveal. We will be dropping hints as artists are confirmed — follow us on Instagram and watch this space.

What we can tell you: this is going to be a night worth staying for all the way to the end.

What to expect

A Night at the Triad is an intimate showcase event at the Triad Theater on the Upper West Side, directed by jazz pianists Antongiulio Foti and Matt Baker. The format is simple: world-class musicians perform for a room that truly listens. There is a first set, an intermission, a second set, and then — the part that makes these evenings what they are — pizza, conversation, and an open hang where artists and audience share the same room without a stage between them.

The artists who performed at Night 8 told us afterward that they felt cared for. That the room's quality of attention changed what they were willing to give. One of the most spontaneously jubilant moments of applause we have ever witnessed in this theater happened at Night 8, from an audience that had no idea it was going to feel that way. That is what this community makes possible.

A note on tickets

A third of the house sold in the first week after Night 8. These shows consistently sell out. If you want to be in the room, now is the time.

100% of ticket revenue goes directly to the artists and basic production costs. The Four Hands Collective is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Your ticket is a gift to the musicians who will be on that stage.
