A native New Yorker "born in a trunk" on tour with his jazz-singing parents, Kim and Marion, AC came up sharing stages with tap greats Jimmy Slyde, Buster Brown, Chuck Green, and Savion Glover, and with his sister, acclaimed singer-songwriter Emily King. He writes, produces, arranges, and sings his own music, has worked as a sideman for The Hot Sardines, Mercedes Ellington, and Winard Harper, and leads his All Star jazz band through swinging renditions of the standards — infused with tap, the great Black American art form, set to the rhythms of his own beat.

AC has been part of the Four Hands Collective community for years, and made his Night at the Triad debut with us this spring. Craig describes him best: his impeccable style could fool you into seeing him as unapproachable, but talk to him once and you feel the warm, open, down-to-earth heart underneath. The cool is never a wall — it's just the wrapping on something genuinely warm.
