Indian Classical Music: Jay Gandhi & Ravi Venugopalan

  • Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 305 7th Avenue New York, New York, 10001 United States (map)

Wednesday, July 8 · 7:00–8:30 PM (doors 6:30 PM) · Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, 305 7th Ave, NYC

A familiar face to our community — bansuri master Jay Gandhi, who entranced the room at Night at the Triad 9 — presents an evening of Hindustani classical music. A senior disciple of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and a founding member of Brooklyn Raga Massive, Jay is celebrated for his lyrical phrasing and captivating presence.

He's joined by tabla artist Ravi Venugopalan, a disciple of Pandit Anindo Chatterjee known for his clarity of tone and rhythmic sensitivity. Together they'll explore raga, rhythm, and spontaneous improvisation — virtuosic and emotionally deep.

Presented by FABA (For Artists By Artists), a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Tickets via Viewcy.
