Carpatho-Rusyn Rhapsody: An Evening of Sacred, Folk, and Classical Music

  • Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall 154 West 57th Street New York, NY, 10019 United States (map)

Four Hands Collective community member Valeriya Sholokhova performs at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall this Wednesday in Carpatho-Rusyn Rhapsody — an evening of sacred, folk, and classical music presented by the Ars Activa Foundation.

Born in Kyiv and trained at Juilliard and the Manhattan School of Music, Valeriya is one of the most courageous and deeply human performers working in New York today. Co-founder of Trio Fadolín and the Ukrainian Music Initiative, she brings to every performance what Craig describes as a willingness to challenge her musicianship and her human vulnerability simultaneously — and to invite the audience into her personal journey as she does.

This program draws on the Carpatho-Rusyn musical tradition — sacred, folk, and classical threads woven into an evening that honors both heritage and the living present.

Tickets are limited.
