Internationally acclaimed Czech-German jazz vocalist Martina Barta makes her 54 Below debut with a sophisticated, deeply personal tribute to Burt Bacharach. Bringing a fresh jazz sensibility to his timeless songbook, she reimagines classics like "Alfie," "The Look of Love," "A House Is Not a Home," and "(They Long to Be) Close to You" in intimate original arrangements that reveal new emotional depth — honoring Bacharach's legacy while making each song her own. An elegant, heartfelt evening of storytelling and song: a celebration of love, longing, and the enduring power of great music.

A graduate of the Jazz Institute Berlin and the Manhattan School of Music who has studied with Theo Bleckmann, Buster Williams, Judy Niemack, and Kurt Rosenwinkel, Barta has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Berlin Philharmonie, and represented the Czech Republic at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

She's accompanied by a world-class NYC jazz trio — Matt Baker (piano), John Webber (bass), and Adam Nussbaum (drums). Matt is a co-founder and co-music director of the Four Hands Collective, which makes this night especially close to home.
