Every Saturday night, Tony Glausi brings his quartet to So & So's — and you never quite know what will happen. This Saturday, March 7th, the quartet welcomes pianist Liya Grigoryan as special guest.
Liya Grigoryan is a New York City based jazz pianist whose performances in the US and Europe — with her own groups and alongside Emmet Cohen, Chad LB, and Martina DaSilva — have established her as one of the most thoughtful and accomplished pianists on the scene. Her debut album Liya Grigoryan Trio was released in 2016. As an educator she works with Litchfield Jazz Camp, JazzReach, and private students, bringing the same depth of commitment to teaching that she brings to every performance.
Tony Glausi — trumpeter, vocalist, composer, faculty at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, and one of the Four Hands Collective's most beloved community artists — leads a quartet whose listening and responsiveness create the conditions for exactly this kind of musical conversation. When two musicians of this caliber share the bandstand, the music goes somewhere neither could take it alone.
Come for this Saturday. Come back every Saturday.
You never know who shows up.
