Trio Fadolín performs two free evenings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Balcony Bar — Friday June 19th and Saturday June 20th at 6pm.
The ensemble brings together Sabina Torosjan on violin, Valeriya Sholokhova on cello, and Ljova on the fadolín — a new instrument encompassing the range of violin, viola, and most of the cello, finding its footing in chamber music for the first time. Trio Fadolín has been presented by Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center, and is the recipient of Chamber Music America's Ensemble Forward Grant.
Valeriya Sholokhova is a beloved member of the Four Hands Collective community — born in Kyiv, trained at Juilliard and the Manhattan School of Music, and a founder of the Ukrainian Music Initiative. Craig describes her as an absolutely courageous musician who challenges her musicianship and her human vulnerability every time she steps on stage.
Free and open to the public.
